To Fuerteventura instead of to the carnival
I prefer lying in the sun to going to the street carnival.
That’s why I flew to Fuerteventura exactly over the carnival days. Four and a half hours in a Ryanair plane is quite a challenge. A 6:15 a.m. departure from Weeze means getting up at 2:00 a.m. so that I am at the airport two hours before departure.
But the one week of nice weather (20–22 degrees every day) makes up for the hardships.

When you go to Fuerteventura, you don’t want a vacation with a big sightseeing tour. On Fuerte, there are only beaches, beaches, beaches….
You almost feel like you’re in the Caribbean, almost white sand and clear water. And everywhere you can walk around naked on the beach. It’s mixed: dressed beachgoers are increasingly taking over. Just 10 years ago, there were almost no people in swimwear on the beach…. now the naked are in the minority! I had chosen the Royal Palm Beach Hotel in Esquinzo for my week. The hotel was very nice, I had a large balcony with loungers and a table and chairs. The hotel is very large, actually too large for my taste. Prices have also risen considerably in Fuerteventura. You notice it everywhere, whether in the beach stalls, in the restaurants, and especially in the hotels.
If you come to Fuerteventura for a nudist vacation, you have to decide whether you prefer going to the north, to Corralejo, or prefer the south with Jandia.
I have already been to both areas and actually prefer the south. I especially like Morro Jable, the old part with the many restaurants and pubs. In the evenings, this is often my go-to spot. In addition, you find more protection from the often strong wind in the south. In the north, of course, you have the unique dune beaches. Here you can walk naked through the dunes and along the beach. You simply park the car on the road that goes through the dunes, undress at the car, and walk towards the sea. No matter what you choose, Fuerteventura is always worth a trip.
